Summit adds terrorism to its insurance plan
Summit County has decided to be covered for laws of terrorism. County Council approved to include terrorism coverage to the county insurance coverage. The annual cost is $9,540.The whole policy is projected to cost a minimum of $842,427, nevertheless the county still negotiating also the amount may be lower, stated Jason Dodson, chief for County Executive Russ Pry.
Terrorism coverage is frequent for municipalities, industry representatives have said. The insurance companies started excluding acts of terrorism from normal policies after the Sept. 11 attacks, providing separate terrorism coverage as an alternative.
County representatives have said it is definitely worth the price to have the coverage.
The deals demand no raises, but workers can renew the agreements inside the third year to discuss a wage boost. The unions stand for about eighty dispatchers and clerical workers.
City Council votes to resume Houston’s terrorism insurance
Houston City Council members unanimously voted to purchase yet another year's worth of terrorism insurance.
The existing policy ends this month.
The insurance coverage covers loss to property or business simply because of an attack on buildings including the City Hall, George R. Brown and the Wortham Center.
It costs around $668,000 and is a $100 million policy having a deductible of $10 million.
